Is the acceptance rate for EDI at a school usually higher than it’s EDII acceptance rate? Like at Tufts, Bowdoin or Pomona?
I don’t know about those schools in particular but often the ED1 acceptance rate is higher as that pool of applicants typically includes recruited athletes, legacy applicants etc.
ED1 acceptance rate > ED2 acceptance rate > RD acceptance rate.
Recruited athletes and legacies generally apply ED1. ED2 contains people who were deferred/rejected early somewhere else or needed more time for essays, so while the qualifications are slightly lower and there’s less space, it’s still higher than RD and closer to the ED1 rate because it’s binding.
