Difference between Federal Work Study and State Work Study

I was not offered Fed Work Study but said I was eligible for State Work Study. Does anyone know the difference? Is there a difference in hourly pay or less taxes to pay?

Did you try to search on your state’s student aid website?

I would assume that some states sponsor work study positions at colleges in that state, similar to federal work study positions, but funding coming from the state.

PA- I looked at the PHEEA website and it explains that the university gets so much on the dollar earned by the student. I am confused by it and what is the difference.

Seems like you can work in summer and for other employers in addition to colleges?
