I'm thinking about taking Econ 138 (Financial and Behavioral Econ) in the summer, but I also know that there's Econ 136 (Financial Econ). What is the difference between the two?

Econ 136 is more from the perspective of financial institutions… you go over modern portfolio theory, pricing derivatives, fixed income securities, etc.

Econ 138 is more from the perspective of corporations… you go over corporate finance, moral hazard, governance, fraud, etc

Ah I see. Would it be a good idea to take both?

have you looked into ugba 103?

Not really. Why?

Yeah is there a good reason to pick Ugba 103 over Econ 136?

The professor for Econ 136 has a higher easiness rating over the Ugba 103 professor for Fall 2010.

Would both courses be “employable” by the way?

Hmm, UGBA 103 requires Econ 101A, so I guess that’s not an option for me since I’m taking 100A right now.

It requires UGBA 101A, which is the Haas version of Microeconomics.
