Difference between Provost and Pegasus Gold Scholarship?

I am a freshman currently and I have the Pegasus Gold, which is $12,000, but I just heard now that they have a Provost one for $20,000. What are the differences in requirements that separate the two? As in what do you have to do better to get the Provost instead of the Pegasus Gold? I read someone said they got it and they thought it was because they were in a tougher program (AP or IB), but I was a IB student taking AP classes.

Just curious =)

I start as a freshman this fall and got the provost. Honestly I have no idea what made them give it to me. I mean obviously for good grades and such but I don’t know exactly what I was, as I stumbled upon it in myUCF one time. I think I’ve read in this forum that there isn’t a lot of info about it floating around. Oh yeah and i did 3 APs junior year and am full time dual enrollment this year, if that means anything… I doubt my two cents helped anything lol but here it is :)

I’m wondering if it’s always been there, or if the Provost is a new award for people who are applying for 2011-2012. If it IS new, how unfair! lol 20,000 is so much money!

yeah i feel like it is new, cuz i’ve known plenty of people who’ve been going to UCF recently and like you, none of them are hearing about it till now. plus, on the award letter it does say “prestigious new award” so i guess there it is lol. i guess you can look at it like last year’s tuition and stuff was lower and if you got BF it was a little higher… although i know that doesn’t totally even it out lol sorry :(

Hmm I guess you have a point haha. But still! 12,000 to 20,000! That’s a huge increase. Oh well. I guess I’ll just be happy I at least got an award.
