What's the difference between psychobiology and neuroscience?

psychobiology is an older branch. Started 100-150 years ago? when some psychologists decided to explore the biological basis of psychological phenomenon. Neuroscience is extremely young, maybe 30-50 years? And it is much more biology-based, much more interdisciplinary. You have people from all fields of biomedical research (geneticists, cell biologists, etc) turning into neuroscience research.

Psychobiology more concentrates on how what's happening in the brain actually affects the body. Whereas, neuroscience mainly concentrates on what is happening in the brain.

There isn't too much of a difference. They're not entirely separate fields. In terms of majors, colleges choose whichever name they like. You have to look at the particular program to figure out if it's more science- or psychology-based.
