Difference in Fordham University Campuses: Rose Hill vs Lincoln Center

I am looking to apply to the pre-medical program at Fordham University, but I am confused as to what majors and disciplines correlate with the two different campuses offered on the Common Application. I understand that Rose Hill is bigger and has a “campus feel” to it, and that Lincoln Center is smaller and more urban, but if I am looking to declare a major in the natural sciences field, what campus would be the best fit?

Go through the Fordham page and there are many threads on the difference between the Rose Hill and Lincoln Center campus. In a nutshell the RH campus is a more traditional and larger campus in the Bronx. The LC takes up a city block in the upper west side of Manhattan and gets a somewhat artisier crowd as the theater and dance majors are offered there.

In addition you should look online and go through the majors/minors available on each campus and see if they both even have what you want – traditionally most of the hard sciences have been offered at Rose Hill but LC has beefed up its offerings I believe.

If you can, visit both campuses.

I think that the Lincoln Center campus would not be a great choice for pre-medical studies. It’s an exciting place to be, but Homeland Security restrictions now prohibit them from offering Chemistry at the mid-town location (or any other course that involves hazardous/incendiary materials).

I’m curious as to how CUNY-Hunter College gets around this restriction?

Look at this page – bottom line is you need to figure out which type of college experience you’d prefer.

you can do natural sciences at both schools. the only thing about major-related things that you’d need to worry about between the two schools is in the arts–dance and theater are only offered at LC as majors. you’re fine!
