Are there any topics/questions on the SAT II Chem that would not be covered by the AP Chem curriculum? My friend who took the SAT II Chem was talking about questions like what color chemicals are when they are burning and stuff? That seems so random...is there a chart in review books or something to memorize?

The color questions are like knowing manganese is purple, iron is red, etc. That type of question can appear on the AP test too but is much less common.

The SAT II is more fact based; the AP test is more concept based. The biggest difference is that the SAT II includes several true/false questions that can be pretty tricky.

Can I only prepare for the AP test and still get an 800 on the chem sat ii? (This is what I did for history). Or is there a lot of extra memorization needed for the SAT II.

You don't even need to prepare for the AP test to be able to get an 800. I got it with almost no studying at all. I just flipped through a review book the night before. I didn't even read half of it. The T/F questions are pretty tricky sometimes though. You just have to probably practice a few of those and you should be set. The rest of the material you should already know or you will learn in an AP Chem course.

I got 780 after flipping through a sample test the night before, and I got a 4 in AP Chem. I don't think you need to prep much apart from familiarizing yourself with the T/F since it's a bit strange.
