Can't decide which one I want to apply to and would like to know any major differences as they are both in the same location, similar sizes and both strong in IR which I'm planning to major in. Any insights would be helpful as I can't visit before applications! (international student)

Is there a reason why you can’t apply to both of them?

my college list is already too big!

Claremont McKenna is considered (and this is from a student at the colleges and a resident of the town) more conservative than Pomona. Pomona is the oldest of the Claremont Colleges and it is more highly ranked in the US News & WR rankings, although I believe CMC is higher in the Forbes rankings. There certainly is a strong rivalry between the two colleges. CMC definitely seems to place a slightly stronger emphasis on their football team. CMC has strong departments in economics and the other social sciences. They recently received a record-setting donation to fund a scholars program. I think Pomona is considered better in subjects like literature and the arts, although their social sciences departments are also excellent.

If you do a search for the words Claremont McKenna and Pomona together in a title - you will get about a dozen threads.
For instance, this one: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/claremont-mckenna-college/474789-claremont-mckenna-vs-pomona.html?
