Differences between residential colleges

Could someone please explain to me the differences between cedar, juniper, mistletoe, and magnolia? Which one has the nicest, biggest dorms, and which one has the most social activity?

The difference in the Residential Colleges is in the students that reside in them. So you won't really find out until you get here.

But there are a few slight differences in the buildings.

Cedar and Mistletoe has boys and girls on the same floor. Boys on one side and girls on the other separated by two common rooms. Some people like it better because of the mixing of the genders and the added common space.
Juniper and Magnolia have dorms that are coed by floor, but they also contain 3 dorms where as Cedar/Mistletoe only have 2. J/M dorms while they don't have common rooms on every floor they do have larger first floor lobbies with pool tables and ping pong or foosball tables. They also have study rooms (or space in the case of 2 of the Juniper dorms) with balconies, 2 on each floor. C/M has no balconies and there common rooms usually just have a ping pong table.

The rooms are pretty much the same size, there are corner rooms that are slightly larger but really it’s pretty much the same. And despite the physical difference in the dorm I still say what makes a Res College is its residents.

Do u get 2 choose ur Res College or are u assigned?

I think it's assigned based on your housing questionnaire.

u can indicate ur preference on the "my housing" site...

but they don't promise you will be placed in your preference, fyi
