Yale is better

Selectivity is one difference despite the schools similar admit rates and yields. Yale is currently ranked 1st (above H and P) in selectivity while Stanford is ranked 9th. Also, don’t dismiss Yale’s engineering. The school has devoted significant resources to the engineering program over the past couple of decades, building world-class facilities and recruiting top faculty. They have a 1-to-1 ratio in their engineering program. See this link to quick facts RE Yale: [Yale Facts | Visit Yale | Office of Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.yale.edu/admit/visit/facts.html) Yales academics are strong across the board!!! And they have the second largest endowment in the nation.

My D is a freshman at Yale and has found the rich residential college life (NO school can duplicate Yales efforts here), the extra-curricular opportunities, her amazing, brilliant, fun fellow students, and her accessible, talented profs (most of the classes shes had this year have had less than 20 students) to be among the highlights. She loves it! In fact, the Yale love factor was what helped her decide to matriculate there over other top-5 universities to which she was admitted. The students seem to be happier than at other top-notch schools. Finally, the weather is an adventure if youre from CA like my daughter. She loves it!

Stanford is also better. And is my favoritest. Yale is my favoritest too!!!

Not everyone thinks this way. My S chose Stanford over Yale.
