I was wondering if every school calculates GPA's differently? I called UCSD after I was accepted today and they said my GPA was a 3.43, even though I have 58 units at CC at a 3.73. The courses that obviously brought my gpa down were from 6 years ago, one of which I retook (from an F) and received an A in- I guess they must of not replaced that grade in my GPA from how I calculated it. They also factored in out of state credits where I received a B and C grade; consequently this brought from from a 3.73 to a 3.43 in UCSD's eyes. Do you guys think I still have a shot at CAL for the Philosophy major? My extracurricular's and essay were topnotch (in my opinion) and do you think each UC might calculate my GPA differently? Please chance me for UCLA and Cal, sorry I know this was a long thread haha!

I forgot to mention that I have taken 3 philosophy courses and received A’s in all of them; my cc doesn’t offer any of the Berkeley philosophy courses but they are close to them!
