I’m planning on submitting different essays to different schools, and I was wondering if anyone could detail exactly how to do it. Is there a button that I click before I submit the first essay or will they just give me an option to change it after?
I already turned in my ED and finished everything. I can still edit the Common App essay.
My guess would be the Common App essay the school sees is the version you have when you put it in. So I guess you could change it. (THIS IS MY OPINION AND NOT A FACT, DO NOT TAKE IT AS A FACT, PLEASE BE CAREFUL ABOUT THIS KIND OF THING)
However, schools generally give you space to shine and show yourself as an individual to that school. Why change the Common App essay?
My interpretation is that each school sees what’s been saved at the moment you press submit, and that any changes made after you press submit will be seen by the NEXT school, but I am no authority on this – eager to hear from someone who actually knows.
@Darude Thanks for answering! To answer your question, I want to change my essay because the school I’m applying to EA doesn’t require any supplements, so it’s hard for them to see why I want to major in that subject (I don’t have a large amount of extracurriculars that relate to it). I just thought it would be nice to write about my interests for that one EA.
