I've recently started shopping for my dorm. I plan on checking out all the usual places like Bed Bath and Beyond but I'm also looking for some different places to shop for dorm stuff like comforters, tapestries, rugs, stuff for the wall etc. I'm thinking along the lines of some of the stuff they have at urban outfitters minus the jacked up price for poor quality stuff. I'm particularly interested in cool tapestries and posters. Thanks guys.

Sears

Good life at a Great price!!!

target? its decent there.

For tapestries I would look on ebay

How about Pier 1?

ikea is AWESOME. they have some really cool stuff at cheap prices.

IKEA!!! I am going there friday to price some things and look at sizes.

Pottery Barn!

does ikea have a good selection of sheets/comforters in the extra long sizes for dorm beds?

http://www.allposters.com

they have tons of sweet posters.

cheap? walmart
i found some cute blankets there - IDENTICAL to ones at BB&B
$15 less

however... i love pottery barn :)

I agree with Riptide....target is sweet

pottery barn, bed bath and beyond, linens and things, crate and barrel, target, home depot actually has some stuff, walmart( i hate it but its cheap), jcpenney has some stuff and Ikea-my favorite.

If you have a Cost Plus near you it's even better for selection on ethnic type things than Pier One. I think they have better prices too on tapestries, etc.

Ebay is awesome for ecclectic things.

And you just can't go wrong with Target for basics.

pier 1 is expensive but its having a sale right now up to 50% off

If you're handy with your tools, you can always make your own fictures (one of my good friends will have herself a hand-built clock for her dorm this fall). Most people who passed middle school shop have enough skill to make something basic (we wired a lamp made of a discarded pop can in our class--fill the base with Quickrete, put a wooden top on the top of it, and put the socket in there...just make sure to run a straw down through the can before you fill it with Quickrete so you can put the power cord in that).

eBay is also good for antiques if you like older stuff. You can find all sorts of cool stuff (like real working traffic lights) there that might look good in a dorm. Target is good for some stuff, but they seem to go toward "mainstream" dorm people half the time when they bring a lot of stuff out in July.

Wal Mart sucks, beg to differ? Haha, just kidding about the beg to differ, but I hate it.

i hate walmart too. ive heard they treat their workers really bad.
