Different rate of accept for out-of-state?

<p>My D is considering U of I. We're not Ill residents. Can anyone tell us whether there is any kind of artificial limit on out of state acceptances. Or conversely is it any easier to get in from out of state? We've actually heard the latter may be true. At U North Carolina for example they limit to about 8% from out of state so it makes those acceptances very exclusive...almost ivy-like difficult. </p>

<p>What say you about U of I.?</p>

<p>Thanks. Some states are pushing OOS due to the revenue from higher OOS tuition. Sounds like UIUC is egalitarian.</p>
