Different things to do on a date

Is it a big faux pas for a parent to post here? My son has mild Aspergers syndrome and at 17, he is just starting to date. What fun (but legal and moral) things to y'all do on dates these days other than dinner/movie? It's not football or basketball season and there are school plays to attend. Ideas?

My son has his girlfriend over to watch a movie together or play board games or video games, oftentimes with another couple. They also go hang out at the mall or at the park. He's a little younger though--almost 16. We live in a rural area where there's not a whole lot going on.

I'd think it'd depends on the girl and on what's around you. I don't really like 'hanging out' (at the mall, etc) but I know a lot of people who do. On the other hand, in a place I used to live, Laser Tag was an awesome thing and people would just randomly go. Most people do things with another couple often times, too.

Other than that, I don't know. I've never been on a date 'officially', so maybe I'm not the best person to ask ;)

it depends on the person, random things that interest them are good
and concerts, etc.

movies at home with some friends.. movies in general... lunch/dinner.. if i'm just hanging out with my bf, we usually plays games (like LIFE or etc) and watch tv..

honestly, i and my girlfriend of a year and a half used to just go to our local giganticnormous barnes and noble. we'd get some books and magazines, sit down at the cafe, maybe get a drink or a snack, and just sit together and read/talk. it might sound stupid to some, but it's actually a very nice time. hw can be done if need be as well.

if your son is just starting to date, this might not be the most interesting idea, but from the point of view of a couple that knows the eachother well, it's a fun night.

If in a city, just walk and talk. They'll run into something interesting and talking is the best way to get to know each other. It'll probably be a coffee shop or Panera or something. Those are always fun.
