Differentiating top 20 universities

I was reading a similar thread that had mostly LACs. So let's suppose an applicant has excellent stats and play "which of these are not like the others?"

Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, Duke, MIT, Caltech, UPenn, Columbia, Dartmouth, UChicago, Cornell, WUStL, Northwestern, Brown, Johns Hopkins, Rice, Emory, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame

For example:
Geography:
[ul]
[]Midwest: WUStL, Northwestern, UChicago, Notre Dame
[]South: Duke, Rice, Emory, Vanderbilt
[]West: Stanford, Caltech
[]Atlantic: everything else
[/ul]
Undergraduate Size
[ul]
[]10k+: UPenn, Cornell
[]3k-10k: everything else
[]1k-3k: Rice
[]0-1k: Caltech
[/ul]

Or how about culture? Chicago is in a league of its own ;-)

harvard, MIT, yale, dartmouth and brown are actually considered to be in the east if you want to get specific =P

how about social life/party scene- low key, so/so, intense (i have no idea which would go into which category though lol)

i guess each school has it own pros and cons according to different people. For example I will like to go to a campus with a large population, so UPENN is one of my top fav. But I guess the wrost out of them must be Rice or emory.

Fun: Yale, Stanford, Duke, UPenn, Brown, Dartmouth, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, COrnell

Sometimes Fun: Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, WUSTL, Notre Dame, Rice, Emory

Not Fun: Caltech, Chicago, Johns Hopkins, MIT

Sports:

Big: Stanford, Duke, Penn, Princeton, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame

Medium: Cornell, Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, RIce

Small: MIT, Caltech, Columbia, Chicago, WUSTL, Brown, Johns Hopkins, Emory

Urban/Urbanish: Harvard, Rice, Yale, MIT, Penn, Columbia, Chicago, Johns Hopkins, CalTech, WUSTL, Northwestern, Brown, Vanderbilt, Emory

Suburban: Princeton, Stanford, Duke, Notre Dame

Rural: Dartmouth, Cornell

Wrong about fun at Hopkins...Lots of fun. Also, wrong about sports if you are a lacrosse fan...Best lacrosse in the nation! and lots and lots of super fans.

I don't think you can rate colleges in tiers of how fun they are, but if you mean fun as in- lots of socializing and partying without much work- I agree that you can rank colleges in that respect.

John Hopkins lax is really cool. I wish I could make it to a few of the Maryland/JHU games.

FLAMIN' HOT GIRLS!!!: Vanderbilt...(alone by itself)

pretty good-looking girls: Yale, Brown, Northwestern
