Difficult Chances: Stanford, Columbia, JHU, Emory, WashU

Hi, this is my second post on CC, was making a new one because the last did not get many replies. Stanford is my top choice by far... thus I focus mainly on 10-12, as my Freshmen year was relatively poor.

This should be the one Stanford roughly calculates, hence why I am posting it on here.

Mainly wondering my chances at Stanford, other schools:

Columbia Univeristy in NY
Johns Hopkins University
UChicago
Northwestern
Washington University in St. Louis
Emory
Notre Dame
Georgetown

I busted my *** off these last two years(Senior and Junior) Kind of slacked sophomore and didn't care freshmen... I'm really just looking at Stanford... close second is Columbia- wondering if I couldhave a breakdown on Stanford's Chances... Thanks!

Lol You Have Two Amazig Hooks...usamo And Tasp..gtfo

Those are hooks? TASP and USAMO I wouldn't think would make up for a GPA or a non top5% rank.

ur rank is pretty bad, but ur SAT scores, gpa and ECs makes u a good candidate. id say slight reach for stanford and columbia, match/safety everywhere else.

Chances at Columbia with 3.807W is equal to Stanford's chances with
4.033W? Can anyone confirm? And what is/are my possible hook(s)?

Congratulations!!! You're going on to higher education!!!
Besides that I can't really chance you for the more selective colleges. Your accomplishments could negate the poor GPA you have(and I mean poor as in the bottom 10% of the applicant pool for Stanford), but nothing is certain.

Anyway, a pat on the back for being eligible for most of the nation's higher educational organizations. Good for you... :)

Umm, thank you? :)
Can someone else please chance/verify chances... thank you!

Stanford - Decent Chance
Columbia Univeristy in NY - Good Chance
Johns Hopkins University - Match
UChicago - Match
Northwestern - Match
Washington University in St. Louis - Match
Emory - Match
Notre Dame - Match
Georgetown - Match

bump (10 char)
anyone else? ><

agree w/ above gl!

ranks not so good...but colleges either care or dont...my friend who was the most amazing candidate i hvae ever seen except for her 15/500 rank just got rejected from stanford

everything else is great, no joke

Columbia Univeristy in NY
Johns Hopkins University
UChicago
Northwestern
Washington University in St. Louis
Emory
Notre Dame
Georgetown

all these schools are crazy hard to get into, you and i know that

i bet you anything the most important thing is the applicatoin
amazing essay + interview = admission to many of them

crappy or decent essay = rejection from all

basically its my (unprofessional) opinion that once you make yourself a good candidate (which you undoubtedly have) it all rides on app appeal

Good luck with Stanford and Columbia....both have complete BS admissions. Amazing kids often rejected, mediocre kids often accepted.
Good luck.
