I am currently a junior in high school and I'm very interested in UCSB. However, one of my friends who is a freshman at UCSB told me she is having difficulty getting classes there since California's education budget has pretty much vanished. This is worrying me. Is it true that obtaining classes is now competitive? Also, if I were to get accepted into the honors program, would I be guaranteed the classes I need?

Well, being in the Honors Program gives you priority registration, so that’s as close as it is to a guarantee.

no it is not difficult to get classes unless you are trying to get ahead, or are changing majors, or trying to get popular GEs

this aint CSU or CC…your $12k tuition subsidizes a lot of privileges, and that includes not having to worry about getting your classes

also your friend is not telling you something. she is probably trying to switch to an impacted major or is undecided and taking only GEs
