Difficulties after attending an U.S. University

So I noticed that it is extremely difficult for internationals to staying the States after graduations (undergrad). The employers have to prove that they absolutely cannot find an American for the job.

What is your plan after graduation?

Grad school, baby, grad school.
Networking, from what I've heard, is hugely important. If you know the right people they are more willing to do the extra work to give you a better shot at that job.

Grad school would be the way to go, but for me that would just incurr more debt than I already have if i were to attend Georgetown or Notre Dame. I guess the good news is that, as you said, those two schools have great networks!

Do not rely on being able to stay and work in the States after graduation. There is a strict limit on the number of work visas issued per year, and in recent years USCIS has received more than twice that number of visa applications on the very first day that applications were accepted. Even if you did find an employer who would be willing to sponsor you, your odds of actually being granted a visa would be rather dim. Be sure to have a good backup plan because chances are you will need it.

I guess my backup plan will be finding a job back in canada. But then that means I could've just attended an Canadian university, saving me 10,000 bucks. Ughhhh

You might already be aware of this, but Canadian citizens can also work in the US with a NAFTA T-1 visa. TN-1 visas are issued for one year at a time but can be renewed indefinitely. They are not limited in number like H-1B visas, but only few occupations qualify. Here's the official list: NAFTA Chapter Sixteen (Part 2) - Temporary Entry for Business Persons

In the past, The Institute of International Education published a number of handbooks entitled "Returning to Fill-In-Country-Here" that offered advice on job hunting and included information about companies that were specifically interested in hiring returning students. You could see what they have that is up to date at IIE Online: Institute of International Education

Another place to start would be the EducationUSA office where you got your first college application advice (if you used this organization). For example, the AVAA which is the office for EducationUSA in Venezuela offers a job hunt/job placement service through http://www.talentosonline.com/
