I have a few questions for everyone. I attending 3 different high schools in 3 years in 3 different states. The reasons were mostly because of my dads job being transferred several times and because of having to move temporarily to help take care of my grandparents. My grades because of this to me seem less then settler. Only a 3.4 freshmen year, 3.8 sophomore year and so far 3.25 junior year. Will explaining my moving around help me out in college admissions process? Also because of this it was hard to stay in one club, I have been involved in many things but not things that continued each year. Will colleges understand the reason why? Also I have got an A- and B in my two AP Classes this year but a two C's in chemistry and math. I really really tried but these classes were extremely difficulty. Also because of english teacher in freshmen year who's goal was not to allow good grades, I ended up with a C one semester. The rest of my grades are all A's and B's. Will these C's kill me? Is it worth explaining to the colleges?

I had similar situation. 4 schools in 3 states. 3 schools in my freshmen year alone!
I made this into a strong point when I applied, and I think I got accepted to an Ivy partially due to this fact. I stressed on my diverse background instead of my grade because moving around really didn't affect my grades at all, just my activities.

I have a similar situation (just enrolled in my 11th school) and am too tired to type right now, but will later. I learned a lot of key points through the app process.

Wow my first post is horrible. It was late at night and I was dead tired! lol...now that's embarrassing. I don't usually type l like that. Sorry! :)

So would I just mention how I attended different schools in the usual optional essay they allow you to write about things you think they should know? Do they really consider that stuff?

Yes, they definitely consider it an unusual circumstance. don't be afraid to make it into a big deal. I wrote it sort of in my main essay too, not only the optional information section, though that's not the main theme of my main essay. Also, stress this when you do your interview, most likely, the interviewer will ask, tell me about yourself, then you can elaborate on all the places you've lived at. good luck
