RIT requires a co-op to obtain a 5 year engineering degree. How difficult is it to obtain a co-op by the student? Is it better to get a 4 year degree elsewhere that doesn't require the co-op for the student to graduate?

There is an office that deals with co-ops for students and since the co-op program is integral to both engineering and other sciences they have experience in helping students obtain co-ops.

If this is of concern for you then I would suggest sending an email or posting a question on the Ambassador’s board on RIT website.

You have asked an important question because the bottom line is that you, the student, have to get the coop and we were told that getting the first coop experience can be difficult (particularly during this economic crisis).
