Difficulty in transferring to Wash U engineering program from LAC

Can someone tell me how difficult it is to transfer in to Wash U engineering dept. after completing 3 years at a LAC? For example Rhodes College has a 3/2 arrangement with Wash U but I'm wondering how many of the Rhodes' students actually make the leap! D is interested in Wash U but not high enough stats to land merit aide I fear. I think she could get scholarship offers at some of the better LAC, but we're worried about the second half of the journey. Don't want to be stuck with a lesser school because the transfer was rejected.

I don’t really have an answer, sorry, but I figure I can at least bump this… If there’s a chance you can qualify I would definitely apply to WashU and try to work something out with the financial services counselors - they’re really pretty willing to find a way to make things work, and WUSTL is doing a lot to bolster it’s financial aid bucket given the economic circumstances.

Assuming that isn’t an option for you though… I know I’ve heard of another school in Missouri with a 3/2 arrangement with WashU, although i can’t quite remember which school or how the system worked…

EDIT: I just googled up a couple links, which might help some:
