I’m interested in attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo next year and I’m trying to decide what major I should apply for. I was wondering if anybody knew how hard it is to get into the biology, sociology, anthropology, and liberal arts major. I am also interested in psychology and kinesiology but I know they are really impacted majors and hard to get into. Thanks!

what is your GPA? ACT? and such like. I just finished freshmen year and I originally got in with 3.8 and 26 ACT.

Sociology and Anthropology are less impacted

My over all gpa will probably end up being 4.0-4.1 and I haven’t taken my ACT yet. My sat however is 1710 but I’ve only taken it once I know I can raise it. What major did you get into with that gpa and sat score kdaftari

Psychology, with 3.8, and ACT 26 SAT only took once was about 1700). I think you sound like you should get in, be pretty surprised if not.

the only major that may be hard to get into out of the ones you said was biology (Liberal Arts majors you should be fine with). Just work on SAT and you should be good.

What about kinesiology? Because i plan on trying to get accepted here under that major but i heard it was very competitive!

I have a 4.2 weighted GPA and 1300 SAT 1 (first try)

You should be fine, although your SATs might be a bit low. I got into biochemistry with a 3.8ish and 2070 SAT.
