Difficulty of Columbia Classes

Hi everyone, I'm an incoming transfer student from UCSD and I was wondering how difficult classes are. I was a social science major at UCSD so classes weren't too bad at all, as long as I put time into them I'd be fine. I'm assuming that the average level of intelligence and motivation for each student is high at Columbia than at UCSD so I'm prepared to see my GPA drop if it happens.

I typically wouldn't be too concerned but I'll working about 25 hours/week (I know it's a less than ideal situation but I have to for financial reasons) and am worried that so many hours of work will cut into my GPA. So I guess I'm asking if the classes are crazy hard. I've tried to choose professors that are easy according to CULPA but I'm still a bit worried.

You’ll be fine. They wouldn’t have admitted you if they didn’t think you could do the work and perform really well.

I graduated in 2012 but I had a similar experience to yours (transferring, working almost full-time, social sciences, etc). PM me if you want to chat more about the transition.
