<p>That’s a rather silly question, don’t you think? They have a tendency at UIUC to avoid admitting many freshman in Engineering who they think are doomed to drop out. In fact, they think you have a good chance of success. Whether you do, or not, is up to you.</p>

<p>No, I wouldn’t say that either. You’ll have more free time than you think, depending on how organized you are.</p>
<p>being successful at uiuc engineering isnt about 24/7 hard work. its about organized, consistent work, like balthezar said. the time u spend in class is a lot less than the 8 to 3, monday through friday high school schedule. if u use that extra time to study efficiently, then ull find at least some free time to chill and party</p>
<p>UIUC has one of the nation’s top 10 physics departments. There are academic strengths there beyond engineering.</p>

<p>Uh… No one ever said otherwise. There are plenty of good programs outside engineering. It’s not much of a secret that engineering is the university’s strongest college, though.</p>
