Difficulty of getting into CALS

Hey all,

I'm just trying to gauge how competitive it is to transfer into the Applied Econ program of CALS. I should still have close to a 4.0 from a mediocre public by the time I attempt to xfer, but I will most likely not have completed even a single semester of Biology. Do they highly frown upon this (the online website says two semesters of bio is recommended for applied ec but not required).

Any assistance would be highly appreciated.

Transfer is not easy anywhere, but you have a good chance,
not completing biology yet should not be a problem

I have heard of several transfers.

Not extremely difficult. Can you apply to an alternate if you apply as a transfer?
check that

the 4.0 is very good, even from a public.
the applied economics program has a good rep

Thanks for the responses.

I’m still trying to decide whether to take Bio. I have literally no interest in the subject but I’m thinking the ad com may want to see it since the business program is a subset of the agriculture land-grant dept.
