I recently attended a college fair and the college rep from UF said that they only compare you to people in your school to determine whether they will offer you admission or not? I just wanted to confirm this as I go to very challenging school and close to no one has the GPA that they look for. Thank You.
Yes, but one school may send 100 kids to UF while another sends 5. Also, they take into account how hard your school/courses are, so someone with a 3.8 GPA may not get in from one school, but someone with a 3.6 may get in from another.
I went to a public school while a good friend of mine went to a prestigious private school, and we both got in. To me, it seems like it’s more about what you do with your time at the school rather than the name of the school you attended.
