I have heard that UPenn Huntsman has the #1 program in international relations-business and that only 40 people are admitted each year. How competitive is the Huntsman admissions process compared to Wharton? and approximately how many people apply for Huntsman each year?

actually, may someone evaluate the difficulty of getting into the CAS International Relations vs. Huntsman also?

To clarify...the Huntsman Program deals with INTERNATIONAL STUDIES and business NOT international relations. International studies is akin to regional studies where you concentrate in a language and take classes on the culture/history etc. of a specific region. International Relations is only offered as a major in the CAS. Hence, you may want to rethink whether this program is really suited to your interests if you are keen on international relations.
The Huntsman Program is limited to about 40-50 students a year and so is far more competitive than CAS and Wharton in terms of admission. However, you can apply to the program and indicate one of either CAS/Wharton as your single degree back up option incase you are not admitted to Huntsman.
