Difficulty of Practice MCAT Tests

Hey, I just wanted to start a thread analyzing the difficulty of different MCAT practice tests. Some I've heard are particularly hard, others easier than they should be. First off, I wanted to know if the practice tests on Welcome to Practice Test Site are accurate in terms of difficulty. I took a diagnostic before studying at all and got a 35. Then I took another diagnostic after studying a bit from Kaplan, and I have to say that the test required a LOT more previous knowledge of material and a LOT more calculations in the Physical Sciences section and I scored a 27. To me, the score difference (I almost got half of the PS questions wrong!) is too much to be determined by luck, so my first question to you all is:

Are Kaplan practice tests harder than the actual tests and are e-MCAT tests easier?

It's a pretty important question as I try to decide which practice tests I should invest my time and money in in the future...

There is a ton of discussion on the Student Doctors discussion board on these questions. Kaplan tests are thought to be harder as far as previous knowledge of material than the real MCAT. (But the actual MCAT now is heavy on reasoning and logic in all sections.) The prevailing opionion on SDN is that the real MCAT tests (3-10) that you have to purchase are the best, and the later ones are closer to the computer based test currently used.

Everyone seems to do really well on the free MCAT that's posted on the e-mcat site so I'd try the other AAMC ones.

Kaplan PS is known for being hard but the curve is very generous as well.
