Difficulty of schedule?

Hello all,
I made a post in another forum about this. But this is months later, and I have much more information, and I officially am attending a CC and attempting to transfer into Umass Amherst, so there is no longer speculation.

This will likely be my schedule for the upcoming semester:

College Algebra (3 credits) (is this transferable at most schools? lol)
Introductory psychology (3 credits)
College Writing (3 credits)
Sociology/History/literature class/Statistics (3 credits). Not sure if i want to double up on math or not, but I will end up taking this class either first or second semester anyway.
Some science course. Not sure on this one, because most of them will be four credits at my school, but not sure if they will transfer, and if they do they will likely be two credit electives at my next school lol

When I look at this schedule, I almost laugh at it. Because I feel like it is too easy for me to be taken seriously as a transfer. However, these are actually the ONLY classes that I can take due to prereqs (The math classes, however, I placed in).

I will be able to take a much harder schedule 2nd semester (precalc, general chem, developmental psych/childrens psychology), but the school will only see my first semester grades and courses.

What I was wondering is: How much will the lack of "rigorous" courses effect me as a transfer even if I can pull off a "3.5 gpa" (going off of what I read on the transfer admissions 101 thread haha). Am I just over reacting and the schedule isn't easy at all?

bump10char ?

Most first semester freshmen have a “basic” schedule. That’s why freshmen trying to transfer are evaluated primarily on HS grades and their SAT/ACT.

Just do well in your college classes and keep in mind you may have to reapply the following year anyhow.
