Difficulty of UT Transfer

I'm going to be a freshman at a public University in Texas this fall...specifically Texas A&M but i've had my heart set on attending UT-Austin for as long as I can remember. And since said heart was crushed when I got rejected I decided to give A&M a go just in case I liked it.

But I was wondering if I did end up applying to transfer to UT, what are some average GPA's for transfer students. I'm going to try to transfer into the Liberal Arts school btw. And does UT put a lot of weight on high school stats for transfers? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

They do not consider your HS GPA (by law, I think). There is a GPA cutoff of 3.6 and you must accumulate at least 24 hours before the summer in which you intend to matriculate.

YEAY! UT rox.
I have my own biases for saying this but you wont like TAMU. UT's liberal arts program is so-so... most liberal arts people have easy classes and, thus, high gpas. If, on the other hand, you want a harder major within Liberal Arts, apply for Plan II Honors. For now, I would recommend boosting up your GPA at TAMU and participating in some unique 'feed African children' campaigns or something... Plan II will definitely look at the latter as well as a high GPA.

Finally, Good luck. Transferring to UT isnt too hard a goal. Just keep ur focus and u can do it.

Plan II will be extremely difficult to transfer into as an external transfer.

That is correct.
