I am in Math 307 and Math 126 right now. 307 is one of the easiest classes I have ever taken, but the homework still takes a large amount of time because of the nature of the course. I think calculus is easy and I have taken a class similar to 126 (my old school’s calc 3 credits don’t transfer to UW because double integrals were not covered), but 126 is still a hard class because losing even a couple points on an exam will significantly drop your grade. For this reason I find I spend more time studying calc 3 than I do my other classes even though, subject wise, I consider calc 3 to be the easiest. For instance, on the first midterm 14 students received a perfect score and the course is curved to 2.9. If you got the average grade of 89%, you received a 2.9. To get a good grade, you really have to perform perfect.

I took chemistry at my old school, but from stories I’ve heard, you can expect a similar story as calc 3.

You will be fine as long as you either do not mind getting 2.9-3.0 as a grade ( I would personally be very sad ) or you don’t mind studying at the expense of everything else in your life. I don’t see you being successful at both a social life and high grades however.

Of course, your mileage will vary based on how strong you are at these subjects, what you consider an acceptable grade to be and by what you consider a social life.

And if you are curious as to how I manage, I study at the expense of everything else. But, I am a returning student and I’m here to win, not to play :)
