Difficulty Rankings of AP Classes

Ok, there are 34 Advanced Placement Classes offered in high school, soon to be 37. Alot of high school students take them now. So this thread is for you to post all the AP classes you have taken so far and make your own ranking of thier difficulty and what you think is the easiest and the hardest class.

chem

bio

ush

span

eng lang

env sci

calc bc

psych

decreasing in difficulty.

so you think psychology was the hardest? wow... I was thinking of doing that for my sophmore year next year as an independant studying.

Maybe I shouldn't... lol

no I think he meant pysch was the easiest of the ones he took...decreasing in difficulty starting with chem ending with psych

english

chem

calc ab/envi sci

1.bio
2.calc
3.chem

Hey, A-San; don't worry, youre a freshman...taking too much ap's leads to desastrous gpa destruction.

Is psych AP easy? I was thinking the same thing as A-San: studying it on my own, then taking the AP exams for it.

I think based on information from students:
1) Art History ( I know someone who is like a major art history geek and she was like...uh oh)
2) bio lots of info
3) chem
4) comp sci

AP psych is easy. I took it freshman year, did nothing outside of class, and i got a 5. of the AP classes i've taken, this is my list (from most difficult to least):
1. European History
2. US History
3. English Language
4. Psychology
5. Calculus AB

Physics B (without any prior physics classes--tons of material)

Chem

US History

French

Bio

Calc AB

English

United States History

European History

World History

English Language

Calc AB

As you can see, I suck at history (seeing as they are the most challenging to me). US History is full of facts and nitty-gritty details within a relatively short amount of time. But, I'm biased because I've always absolutely hated this terrible subject.

My Euro class was fun, but I still hated history. There's less emphasis on minute facts, but I heard this class is relatively useless (although I learned a lot from it).

My World History class was incredibly awesome. I hate history, but this was my favorite class of all time, since I had the greatest teacher to have walked the earth. He was particularly difficult, but when I took the test, I found it to be a breeze. However, I probably have chipped teeth my gnashing my teeth together so hard from all the frustration. The subject is still rather interesting though.

Chem

US history

English Language

Euro history

Calc BC

Biology

Macro/Micro Econ

hardest to easiest

What about Physics C?

Chemistry

Physics C

Physics B

Biology

Calculus BC

Calculus AB

U.S. History

Computer Science AB

Computer Science A

U.S. Government & Politics

Latin: Vergil

Latin Literature

Then the other languages.. and the rest are easy.

Chemistry is definitely tough.
Bio is pretty hard too, lots of material to learn.
Eng Lang...if you're good at English, you could probably self-study and do your own practice essays.

That's all I can judge. But I heard Psych, Stats, Micro/Macro and Geog were pretty easy.

in my experience (from hardest to easiest)

Chemistry

English Language

Statistics

Micro Economics

Macro Economics

Calculus AB

These are in terms of CLASS difficulty... in terms of AP exam difficulty its a bit different:

English Language

Chemistry

Micro Economics

Statistics

Macro Economics

Calculus AB

yup.

Test wise...

Music Theory was really hard. Its either you hear it or you don't and i couldnt really hear it...

Then Bio. Bio has a lot of material, but i dont think the AP is that difficult because for the most part (in MC) the test doesnt require particularly advanced or nitpicky knowledge, with exceptions of course

Physics C E&M

Physics C Mechanics

Computer Science AB

Calculus BC

Chemistry

Biology

European History

English Language and Composition

English Literature and Composition

Macroeconomics

Microeconomics

to tell u the truth..i thought psych was REALLY EASY. the reason...my friend self studied with barron's and got a 5.
