Digital Media Academy

Has anyone had a HS or College student take a summer class through this organization? My college son is looking into this program. : Introduction to Web Design with Adobe CS4 - Digital Media Academy

He's a rising college senior and an English major with a communication concentration but has a computer bent. In fact until his last year in HS, we all thought he would major in something to do with computers. He's had three programming classes. This organization has classes for teens and adults at well known colleges. My son is concerned with the cost, the shortness of the class, and perhaps the intensity. He's interested in the subject, but is not sure if he will get his money's worth from this. My thought is that this will add a dimension to his resume and hopefully teach him the basics of web design.

He can take this at Penn and commute.

Could he find something similar at a community college for less. My son was signed up to take Dreamweaver this summer at our local CC. He dropped it due to his work schedule. Our CC has a pretty decent selection of both Graphic Design and Multimedia and Web design courses.

No, I looked at both of our local CC’s, the local four year universities (we have six within half an hour) his own college in Virginia and anything near that. There just doesn’t seem to be any web design class in August anywhere for adults. There are a few things for teens but that’s not him. I feel a sense of urgency because he will be graduating next Spring without anything on his resume to separate him from all the other English majors.
