<p>My daughter applied ED, but was deferred. Since Penn is her dream school, our fingers are tightly crossed that she gets in RD. Her grades are very strong (2nd in her class) and her SATs are 2300, so she’s cautiously optimistic. I wish with all my heart that you two end up being classmates :o) Any words of advice?</p>
<p>Honestly, I really didn’t expect to be accepted…so getting in really surprised me. Looking back, I had really strong grades and a good SAT score as well, but what I thought helped me stand out was my art portfolio. It helped demonstrate my skills and passion. If your daughter hasn’t done so, she should try to put a portfolio together.</p>

<p>My friend did. I applied to DMD but was denied. It sucks. I hope you all enjoy it a lot. It is absolutely unique and of all the similar programs Penn’s has the best chance of getting you into a good job. I did a lot of research</p>

Thanks for responding. My daughter did put together an art portfolio and sent it in with her application. My guess is, they need more samples of her artwork before making a firm decision in April. She should probably send in a few more photos ASAP. I wish you lots of luck at UPenn. Congratulations on your acceptance! :)</p>
