Dilemma (Once again) UCSD vs UCI

UCSD - (Undeclared for Warren) Winter Admit 2010

vs

UCI - (Business Admin. Paul Merage) Regular Admit 2009

-Leaning towards BIO major
-UCSD TOTAL COST first year: 17k, Grants = 10k, loans = 6k
-UCI TOTAL COST first year: 25k, Grants 15.2k, Loans 9k

-UCSD, BIO is impacted, and so I'm not even sure if I can transfer to that major. Any other notable majors at UCSD?
-Although you can say that I am not even completely sure if I want to do bio major.
-I don't really want to do Business, I don't even know why I put that as my major for UCI. However, i've heard that Business at UCI is impacted, does that mean I can transfer over to BIO major easily?
-UCSD, no guarantee that I'll be dorming.
-UCI, Guaranteed dorming.
-UCI, more friends will be attending there
-UCSD, nicer location, I've wanted to attend UCSD since freshman year just b/c.

-Please offer unbiased opinions, although this is the UCSD thread area.
-I do not have that STRONG of a study ethic.

UC GPA: 4.0
SAT I: 1950, SAT II's: 680 MATH IIC, 660 BIO (E)
AP TESTS TAKEN: AP LANG (3), AP STATISTICS EXPECTED (4 or 5) AP LITERATURE EXPECTED (3-4).

Junshik: Biology is to my knowledge NOT impacted at UCI. So, you can start in the fall, switch to BIO and rock & roll with your friends. Alternately, you can enroll in the winter at UCSD, hope to be moved up to fall, stand on a housing waitlist, and take your chances with BIO at UCSD. Depends o how much you want to start and finish at SD.

I see… thank you brassring for the response.

Any other opinions are much appreciated.

Also to add… UCSD has far more research/internship/job opportunities for bio/premed majors.

And… I don’t want my post count to be at 666… :]

It’s kind of hard to decide if you don’t have a solid major you want to be in. Bio majors in UCSD, although impacted does not mean you cannot go into it. People have been posting that you can take the classes that the Bio people take, show your understanding and good grades, and that you want to be in the program, and they might let you in.

Plus, UCSD has the best for Bio majors :)
