Dilemma! Please Look.

Okay so heres the deal. Last semester I got in trouble for an alcohol violation at my current college. My sanction was a warning and I had to complete an alcohol survey. On the Common Application it specifically ask if you have ever been placed on probation, suspended, or expelled from the school. I have not so I put no. I gave the Dean of Students the College Officials Report and later emailed her and asked if my warning would be reported as it the form ask if the student has ever been placed on probation, suspended, or expelled. She told me that she was going to report it.

I feel like this is really unfair and could impact a lot of my transfer acceptances as I have otherwise strong stats. I recognize that I made a mistake in drinking underage, but do not think that it should be reported as I never faced any of the sanctions that the colleges asked about (probation, suspension, expulsion)

What should I do? Will this hold weight in my decisions?

What do you mean what should you do? If you don’t put it down yet the Dean of Students reports it you are SOL. It is possible that your sanction IS a probation.

Should I contact the colleges that I applied to and tell them or try talking with the dean?

No, my sanction is a first offense and is specifically listed in the college handbook as a written warning. After the first offense you get probation, then lose housing, and then probably suspension.
