Dilemma

Hi this is my first post on CC, after stalking around the boards for hours (haha).

I was told by my college counselor that I could take another SAT in October and my third Subject Test in November and submit both in time for the SCEA deadline. Recently I read online that I cannot submit a November test.

My first (and only) SAT was a 2200 Composite: 750 CR, 680 M, 770 W.
I'm really worried about the math score, but it looks like I can't do anything about it with just one testing date remaining.

My Subject Test scores so far are: 800 Math 2, 780 Physics.

I also am finishing the math curriculum at my school this year, having taken BC Calc in 10th grade (A), IB HL Math in 11th (A-), and the newly formed Differential Equations next year.

Do you that will balance off the low math score, and that I should just take the 3rd Subject test in October?

Or should I do something like take an ACT (which I have never done, nor practiced for).

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Yale doesn’t require 3 subject tests, so unless you’re applying somewhere else that DOES then you should utilize the fall to raise your SAT I math score. If you do need that 3rd SAT II for another school then I wouldn’t worry about it too much because you have a high SAT II math score.

You also never know about ACTs, I got a 560 on my math score in the SAT I and then I took the ACTs without studying and got a 34…so like HUGE lol about that…the ACT was just SO much better for me in so many respects, particularly with the math so maybe that would work out well for you too!

Yale DOES accept November tests. But they just can’t guarantee the scores will get there on time. But you already have 2 subjects and that’s all you need for Yale so you’re all good.

And don’t worry about your SAT I. 2200 is great. Only retake if you think you can do better. Either way, you’ll be getting in to a good school no matter what.

Thanks for clarifying those two things! I wasn’t aware that Yale only requires 2 subject tests now. This definately takes a lot of pressure off!

i have nothing to add to this thread, but i just wanted to say that i love your username xD
