ok...i know it is always good to do something useful in the summer and last year i wen to cornell summer college...honestly i had probably one of my best summers of my life, and at the same time i met some of the smartest, most unique people...anyway this year i wanna do the same thing and go to cornell summer college but i dont know if its the right move in terms of college apps...im going to apply to cornell ed and i figured where better to take this opportunity then at the school i really wanna go to...anyway what should i do...some of my friends are going to summer college and it would be great to spend the summer with them too...

with an unrelated question does anyway know the rate of admission for summer college

i think you answered your own question....go to cornell summer college. and why would that be a bad move in terms of college apps....especially when youre talking about applying ED to cornell? also, i doubt anyone knows the acceptance rate for summer college (those type of programs dont seem to release that info) but its pretty well known that those programs arent very selective/hard to get into (which is not to say they arent worthwhile...bc in my experience they definitely are!)

thanks...bump?

I think considering the summer college would be a great move…if you have the means to do it! cuz it would show your great interest in the school…that being said, it’s also nice to spend the summer with your buddies ;) I guess it all depends on your personal choice and whether you have the resources to go there! It can be pretty costly, I applied to Stanford Summer College but I couldn’t go because of the cost and some other family obligations…but something I really wanted to do! GL

With the admissions rate thing…I don’t think they’re that selective! I mean they look for competent people who are able to take on the challenge…but I think essentially they accept people on basis of space! That’s just my take…. Either way, these programs are really beneficial and…look nice on your apps lol

Why are you asking about the acceptance rate if you already got in last year? I agree with Elgguj, you pretty much answered your own question. :)

with more people catching on that these programs 'look good' on apps, selectivity would probably get greater.

yea i know what you guys mean...but i guess my question was "if theres something better i can do during the summer what is it...and does it merit sacrificing spending time with my friends at the college that i wanna go to?"

i spent my summers lazing around watching soap operas...do what you want to do...dont let college applications dictate your life...it is summer vacation after all!

^^ but don't let them know you did that.
