Dimensions of Dartmouth Email?

Hi guys, I just got this email from Dartmouth inviting me to visit the campus from April 20th to April 23rd. I'm thinking this means I'm accepted unofficially, but I haven't gotten a likely letter yet! Can anyone here confirm that they got a likely letter and this email, or if everyone who applied got this email? Thanks!

yeah i just got a likely letter and the email. I think you are definently going to receive a likely letter very soon and you are pretty much accepted. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and also, does a likely letter generally mean you are accepted? That they're going to 100% send out an acceptance letter April 1st? Or is it that - likely.

Phillryu, what region of the U.S. are you located?

Stanmaster might have got his letter before some of the other people because he lives in New York, so the letter will get to him sooner.

I'm in Connecticut. The weird thing is my friend just got her letter today, and I didn't, so that's why I'm panicking.

omg... i got this email too. In light of what good news???? grrr. i have not received anything from them and i'm from nyc. someone stop me before i go into cardiac arrest!!

hmm should've checked this post before posting. haha i guess we're all in a similar boat

MA here

Testing for understanding;

You did not get the snail mail version of the likely but you got the e-mail inviting you to dimensions. I would repsond to the e-mail or phone the office and state your intentions to attend if that is your desire.

The one thing is certain, If you sign up for Dimensions, it is definitely going to make them aware that you are seriously considering Dartmouth. That is going to prompt a cross-reference as the school will not want to be caught with egg on their face. It is a strong possiblity that you have gotten a letter that is lost in the mail or fallen through the cracks. The ball is now in your court.

I think you probably were admitted.

Fiesta,

Take the bus up from NYC. They leave from Penn Station (usually about 3 buses) that will have students from NYC, CT, LI, Westchester and NJ. Daughter took bus last year, had a wonderful time and is still friends with bus friends. You'll have a long spring break as it wil begin on Wednesday when you go to Dimensions. Have a wonderful time.

What if I can't go? :( Family's already booked for a trip to Florida that weekend.

You make it sound like it would be a factor in an admit or not. I'm hoping that they've finished making decisions at this point?

If you get the email, you are in. Doesn't the first line say that you should have received good news from Dartmouth in the past few weeks or something? I would wait for a few days to get the letter before calling. And if you get a letter, you are in. In the past ten years, only 2 people who received the letter were rejected - due to violations with the law, flunking every class, etc.

You can always go to Florida!!!

Go windsurfing another time!!!

This is YOUR future we're talking about !!!!

Remember, Dimensions isn't just about seeing the school; you are also scouting for a possible roommate.

No it's not a factor in your admission because you have probably been admitted (I'm sorry you walked away with that assumption). The e-mail is new this year I don't remember daughter getting e-mail about Dimension until after she got the likely letter.

I think that you have been admitted as why should the school at this late stage invite you to a school function if they are not going to admit you as Dimensions are Dartmouth's Admitted Students days. Shame you can't attend as it would be a wonderful opportunity to meet your prospective classmates. You'll most likely get the big envelope April 1.

I live in Florida, so trust me when I say that there is nothing here...go to Dimensions!!!

I actually do not have spring break that week. I'll be missing school, but for Dartmouth, pshhh.... I'd do anything :)

Do you attend a NYC public H.S. Their spring break starts the last week in april right after you get back. If you don't sorry, but go any way :)

I'm going nuts! It sounds 99% certain that I'll be getting a likely letter soon, but what if I won't? What if they accidentally sent this email out to everyone? What if? What if?! AHHH

hey does anyone know what date the postmark is on this last round of likelies? thanks :)

(also- is it just in a regular business-sized envelope?)

Philly,

First of all welcome to Cc and the Dartmouth family. All together now *Ya gotta calm down *. I would bet the farm (if I had one) that you have been admitted. If you are that afraid call the office, get info about Dimensions and casually ask when should you expect your letter.

Stan said his was dated March 4. It does come in a regular business size envelope. I really thing another round will be mailed out this friday.
