Dimensions of Dartmouth v. Discover Dartmouth--- what's the difference? Which one is better?

My gut reaction is that Dimensions is ‘better’ but admissions wanted to create a weekend for people who couldn’t attend Dimensions.

Go to Dimensions.
Go to Dimensions.
Go to Dimensions.

-------------------------IMHO you should go to Dimensions.

dimensions FTW

ah is dimensions really that much better?
it’s the same weekend as my prom =/

i cant go to dimensions ![]()
im so upset!!
is discover dartmouth cool though?

Discover Dartmouth is new this year, so nobody really knows what it is going to be like, and about 95% of the student body doesn’t even realize that there is going to be a Discover Dartmouth weekend. What I do know is that all the student organizations who are planning on putting on events have only been making plans for Dimensions weekend. Previously, students who couldn’t make it to Dimensions had to settle for just going on a ‘regular’ tour/info session on any given weekend/weekday. I guess this year they decided to consolidate, and make a second-best alternative to Dimensions. Admissions might put on some other special programming geared towards prospective students (prospies), but it most likely will not involve the input/planning of students, and therefore wont be as much ‘fun’ as Dimensions. I don’t believe you guys will get to be hosted by students, or have any of the fun events, free food, performances, lectures, special tours, or parties. If you’re lucky, you can probably sit in on classes. (btw… when IS discover Dartmouth, and is it a whole weekend thing, or just a one day thing?)

Honestly, Dimensions weekend was a lot more fun and a lot more memorable than all my proms put together. If this will be your first/only prom that you are going to, then I guess it would be better to go to that… but only slightly.

Dimensions rocks. It is the number one reason I hear that people decided to attend Dartmouth over HYP. All the other accepted students weekends are drastically different from ours.

If you want to get an idea of the different types of fun things that happen at Dimensions, watch this video filmed at the student activities fair last year.

discover dartmouth is like a one night thing there’s one on april 9-10 and april 23-24
here’s the itinerary for discover dartmouth

Just what I assumed: it is nothing compared to Dimensions. The Dimensions itinerary will have over a hundred scheduled activities, plus more ‘unscheduled’ fun to be had.
