Dimensions of Dartmouth

Just an option. I knew west leb would be tough but I never had problems with Manchester.

I'm ED, is it still worth going to Dimensions, especially since I would have to leave a day early? (I'll most likely be able to find a host though)...

^^^DS#1 also had to leave a day early way back in April 2006 when he attended. I know he felt it was worth all the effort of traveling 1000 miles to be at Dimensions because he loved his time there and ultimately chose Dartmouth. It truly made the difference for him.

Another question... how activity-packed are the days at Dimensions? Is it one thing after another, or is there free time to just hang around? I'm wondering if I should bring my running shoes.

well that depends on how many of the events you actually want to go to. Dartmouth does schedule events right after each other and many events overlap but nothing starts until 10AM and there's a lull if I remember from like 5 to 8 in the afternoon so you can hang out with your host.

Does each host just have one student?

^No... but from what I've heard, five people in a room is half the fun!

That's not necessarily true. Hosts choose how many students they want. Frankly though, it matters little. At Dimensions, you'll be so busy anyway, that you likely won't be around your host that much.

Also, to clarify, most hosts have just one. Many take on two. Rarely there will be some that have more than that.

I hardly saw my host. Dimensions is what you make of it - there's tons of stuff to do but most (if not all) of it is optional.

Will Dartmouth mail us more information about Dimensions when we get the official acceptance letter?

Yes they will.

Only limited info though. Mostly just the dates and such. Unless they've changed it since 2 years ago, it's just a sheet of paper advertising it that says you're invited to attend, but is pretty vague.

Hey, I'm a '10 at Dartmouth. Some details about Dimensions are intentionally left vague. All I can say is that I STRENUOUSLY recommend attending. Seriously.

What's the weather like in NH in April? I really hope I can rely on my California wardrobe (i.e. sweatshirts as the warmest article of clothing)!

I'm an ED and I'm interested in attending.
Since I didn't receive an official invitation, can anyone tell me what it said such as date/times?
Thanks :)

Kristina, I'm not too far from Dartmouth and quite honestly a sweatshirt is really the warmest article of clothing you will ever need. That being said, something tells me most of you are a bit less acclimated to the weather... April around here is usually pretty nice, make sure you bring something waterproof though, and definitely check weather.com.

Thanks!

ainsivalavie: I like your username :). And the postcard invitation just said April 17th - 19th.

Anyone else get an email about Dimensions?

I did, and it said that I can visit another time (besides April 17-19)... but I would miss all the activities. I have some big volleyball games during Dimension that I don't want to miss... but I want to go to Dimensions, too. =(

yup, got an email too
