Dimensions

Can anyone give me more details about Dimensions at Dartmouth? Thanks!

Yeah, and does anybody know of anywhere an ED girl could stay if she was looking to crash the party? :-)

Basically from what I understand Dimensions runs from April 20th thru April 23 and the prospective students go through orrientations, walking tours, and other info session-like activities plus social activities like parties, concerts, etc. Also the prospective students invited live in the dorms with host.

I reeeaaallly wanna go tou dimensions. But I'm ED as well, sourire. Plus I have been there twice already despite living on the west coast, so I'm thinking my parents won't let me go again. But if I am able to, I know people I could stay with, I'm just wondering if it would be weird for me to show up-- technically uninvited-- to all these events. Any ideas people who have been there before?

I searched for info on Dimensions for 2009 and could not find anything.

Anybody absolutely sure when it will be held?

Someone (Sybbie?) said that it's earlier in the week this year. It ends on Saturday instead of beginning on Friday. The last day is the 22nd, I believe. The post is near the end of the Likely Letter thread.

someone posted their likely letter which states this year Dimensions is from
Wednesday, April 20, to Saturday, April 23. Last year it ran from Thursday thru Sunday.

When/How are students invited to Dimensions?

Some are getting invitations directly in their likely letters.

From Class of 2008:

* In order to help you discover more about Dartmouth, a select group of students will be invited to attednf "Dimensions of Dartmouth". This special program, to introduce you to life at Dartmouth will run from Thrusday, April 22 to Sunday, April 25; we hope you will keep these dates in mind and plan to attend *

It is also listed in the RD admissions letters that come out on April 1.

From Class of 2008

All of us at Dartmouth hope you will visit campus furing the month od April and take the ooprtunity to meet students and faculty, attend classes and stay overnight in the dorms. During the period from April 22nd th April 25th, we will sponsor a series of special programs to introduce admitted students to the academic and extracurricular life at the college .

Cool! Thanks. Does it make a difference if you had/didn't have an invitation with your likely letter?

no,

Why don't you wait until your official admissions letter comes and see what comes with that as most likely the invitation will be there for their admitted students days (same thing).

Thanks for the info Sybbie :)

So people have to be invited? i.e. if I get in, I could still not get invited to Dimensions?

If you get in, you will still be invited to dimensions (because dimensions is and the admitted student days are the same thing)

Oh, I see. Thanks!
