I need to know everything about dining at CMU
- Where are meal plans valid? (which restaurants, dining halls, etc)
- The cuisines available
- What are flexible dollars? Where are they valid?
- Which meal plan do you recommend?
I need to know everything about dining at CMU
Food was good for me at CMU. They have a range of different food from Indian to italian and typical burgers. Flexible dollars is just money you can use to buy food, while a block is a time when anything you want to eat will count for that block. Generally it is recommended to get the most flexible dollars over blocks, because flexible dollars are for the entire semester, while blocks that arent used within the two weeks cycle are wasted.
Everyone that I talked to said Red 9. The dollars are good at the on-campus restaurants, entropy (convenience store), and a few off campus places.
They have an indian place, stir fry, rice bowls, pasta, a crepe stand, a burger grill (which is really good), a pasta place between the burger and rice bowl that’s pretty good, a few cafes, a vegetarian place, and some sandwich stands. I’m just listing from memory, there’s definitely a lot more.
Go with the Red 9 plan. That’s what my D did and she had plenty of flex dollars left over.
She had flex dollars left over?! I’ll have to make sure to go on a last-day food splurge. I can’t waste my flex dollars!
