for those of you who have been here before, are the dining halls always such a mob scene? every time i try to eat (beisdes breakfast) the hall is packed, you're lucky to find a seat, and there are obscenely long lines. sure, dining hall food is good, but the good food (exhibition) takes 15 minutes to get.

it wasnt as bad last year. we're way over crowded this year. you can sometimes avoid the crowds by eating extremely early or extremely late (ie. like 5 mins after they open or 5 mins before they close).

i got yelled at by dining staff for walking in after i had already showed them my bruincard 1 minute earlier to drop my backpack in the lockers... Yeah must always check in lest you wish to be screamed at!

OY i always eat when it opensssssssssssssssssssssss... and yeah it's not so bad nam.

what are you talking about... it was terrible last year!!! i haven't noticed it as crowded at all... and i eat dinner at the same time this year as i did last year...

THIS IS RIDICOLOUS... i'm used to having my food whenever i want !. it doesnt matter which hall i go to either. do you guys ever push in front of the line!!!

like toeday i had to go somewhere so i went to dining hall and the line was out the door at herdick so i had to skip

Ever notice that most of the dining hall workers have that look on their face that says " I hate my job." But I used to have a job similiar to theirs, so I understand...

lol... just don't go during the dinner rush and you'll be fine.. try going btwn 5-6 or 7-8... everyone and their pet giraffe are in the dining halls from 6-7...

Anybody else notice that the food itself isn't as good this year as it was last year?

i wasnt here last year but i notice the food isnt as great as rumors indicated. i've had better food at a select few other campuses

I heard that the on-campus dining budget was spread thinner this year, to accomodate the extra-high occupancy of residents living on the hill...

that explains the thimbles they call cups now at the cafes. i mean come on, i can get a bigger drink if i buy a happy meal!

honestly they should have just closed crossroads and puzzles instead of changing them if they were having budget issues. i dont see many people goto puzzles at all. crossroads is just so far in the boonies. no one wants to walk that far for a burger from 9pm-12am mon-thurs.

but that doesnt make sense because everyone that lives on campus has to have a meal plan. more people = more money from meal plans. so really, the budget should have been proportionally increased instead of "spread thinner".

The dining halls have been getting worse each year I feel. My freshman year (fall '04) the dining halls weren't particularly crowded... last year, pretty crowded... and from my experiences getting swiped in by friends in the dorms this year, the situation has certainly worsened. I hope at least Hedrick is open for brunch on the weekends now?!?

government schools never make sense with their budgets.. i suspect lots of waste and ineffiency.

hedrick is open for sunday brunch. but not for breakfast any other days, which is aggravating.
