Dining

My daughter had been complaining about the long lines at both the North and South campus diners. She waited 30 min to get a sandwich at the North diner yesterday at 2pm. Going at different times does not seem to help. She tries to use the diners because they use points rather than using up all her Terp bucks at the cafes. Are these lines normal?

Here’s a helpful tool.

[University of Maryland Dining Services Ellicott Diner](http://dining.umd.edu/webcam/ellicott-diner)

She can use it to learn when is the best time to eat without waiting. There is no doubt that Oakland has added to the crowds at the Diner, especially on weekends when 251 is not operating. It helps if you are “flexible” in your choices. When I walk in, I decide what to have AFTER I look at the lines. :)

…and as the semester goes on, more and more students will find the ease of ordering food to be delivered from one of the many CP eateries who have figured that out!

I live in Ellicott and go at all times to north diner and have had no lines longer than 5 or 10 minutes.

South Campus gets really really busy during the week (especially the pasta line). I’ve waited 20-25 minutes to get a grilled cheese even when there were legit only 4 people ahead of me! But on weekend’s, it’s dead in there. Late night can get busy, especially on the ice cream line.
