Diploma Issues

Hello,

I recently graduated from College this Spring, but haven’t received my diploma yet. I have been looking for jobs overseas, but the positions had to pass on me because they needed a copy of my diploma in order to process the work visa. I reached out to my University to find out when I will receive my diploma. I received an email from a representative from the register office, which stated that I had to wait until August-September in order to receive my diploma. He also told me that he would let me know when the diploma arrives at the College so I can come pick it up instead. However, I reached out to him again, asking if he could let me know when it arrives, but this time told me it will be mailed to my house. I’m trying to find a job overseas before my lease is up at the end August, but it’s supposed to come on August 24, but a disclaimer was attached saying that it could arrive in September. This is impacting my lively hood I have no idea what to do.

Any advice would be appreciated

How about a copy of your official transcript and a note from the registrar’s office that you’ve completed all the requirements and have obtained a degree? I would think that would serve the same purpose and suffice.

You may need to find a loan or a temporary place to crash from friends/family if you want to stay overseas. I think the requirement of an actual diploma is pretty common in foreign countries.

I think your final transcript will say that a diploma was granted. Perhaps you can also ask the Registrar to write a letter on school letterhead stating that your graduated and that the diplomas for your college are prepared and sent out in September. Together, those two things might be enough to at least temporarily satisfy some companies.
