Diploma requirements at your school?

<p>I only know what it's like in New York. How do other states compare? For my Advanced Regents Diploma I need:</p>

<p>3 years of a foreign language
4 years English
4 years History
3 years Science
3 years math
1 year Art/Music
7 semesters of Gym, so 3.5 years of it, and one semester of health. </p>

<p>And we have to take regents exams at the end of the year, big tests, 5 are required to graduate.</p>

<p>For a college/university prep diploma, here is what is needed:[ul]
[<em>]4 years of English
[</em>]4 years of math including Algebra I (can be done in Middle School), Geometry, Algebra II, and one class beyond that.
[<em>]4 years of science, which must include Biology, a lab, and Earth/Environmental Science
[</em>]3 years of Social Studies: World History, Civics/Economics, and U.S. History
[<em>]2 years in one foreign language
[</em>]Two semesters of P.E. or Dance
[<em>]One semester of life skills and one semester of health.
[</em>]Proficiency on state-made exams in English I, Algebra I, Algebra II, U.S. History, Civics/Economics, Biology, and Earth/Environmental Science
[<em>]Proficiency on a Computer Skills exam given in 8th grade
[</em>]23 credits in all, 19 of which are covered by required courses.[/ul]</p>

<p>At my school, graduation requirements are:</p>

<p>4 years of English
4 years of math
3 years of science
3 years of social studies
1 year of fine arts
1 year of PE
1 semester of health
(There are no foreign language requirements but the state university requires two years, so that’s what most kids do.)</p>

<p>You also have to pass a state standardized test. </p>

<p>22 credits in all.</p>
