There are lots of Connecticut kids there, mine included.

This whole business of coming home on weekends is perplexing. When I went to school in the “dark ages” the whole point of going away to college was to get away from the “routine” of home life. Must be a generational thing. :D

My D was accepted into the nursing program as well, but we’re from NJ and she wants to get out! They gave her a nice merit package. Hopefully she’ll think seriously about that.

Bossf51 - so your child is happy at SHU. How did the housing work out? I understand that they do not guarantee housing, but I would prefer her to be on campus at least her first 2 years.

If it was up to my daugher, we probably wouldn’t see her home until Thanksgiving! Not that she doesn’t like us, but she is ready for more independence!

There is a priority point system but frankly I don’t see her having a problem with housing. As long as she keeps her grades up and gets involved in some activities she should be fine.

My daughter just got accepted yesterday with a nice scholarship! They sent her an honors college application, I just hope she does it, she is so “done!” with apps and mentally has gone on to other things. It isn’t hard though, a few questions, and I think the program would be a good thing.
