I want to go into business school at Iowa, but I don't qualify for direct admission ( only like 20% do) should I do pre business here or go somewhere else?

You are an Iowa resident, right? Pick up the phone and make an appointment with the business department at Iowa, and then go talk with them about what you would need to do in order to get into that department. They surely have a full plan of studies for the pre-business students. Find out if admission is automatic with those classes and grades, or if you would still have to formally apply and compete for a seat with other people who have been in the pre-business courses. While you are there, ask about articulation agreements with the community colleges around the state. Can you save some money by starting out at a CC that you can commute to? Are there any CCs that the business department at Iowa perceive to be producing better transfer students?

There is usually a set of predetermined classes that you can take, and if you receive a minimum set grade then you will be admitted into Business
